Photo #22 in the Photography section of this website shows this painting displayed on an easel in the artists studio. The photo states that this is 'a little corner of Stember's studio in Moscow.' The photo was taken in 1894.
The painting is now held by the Lipetsk regional museum in Russia. It was identified in 2026 by comparing the museum's painting with the family's photograph #22. Museum sources date the painting to 1909, but the family photograph of it on the easel is dated 1894, so the 1894 date is kept here.
